Coastal Jazz & Blues Society

CJBS has produced the annual Vancouver International Jazz Festival since 1986, presenting an extensive program of traditional, contemporary, and evolving forms of jazz, blues, world, creative, and improvised music. From the beginning CJBS has leveraged the impact and momentum of the Jazz Festival by producing an annual concert season from September to May of each year. Coastal Jazz and Blues Society plays a leading role in the Jazz Festivals Canada network and is a member of the prestigious International Jazz Festivals Organization.

For 10 days and nights extraordinary music electrifies the entire city. From Gastown to David Lam Park, from hip bistros to great concert halls you can hear a wide variety of jazz, blues, groove, world music, improv and popular artists. Featuring 1,800 musicians from Canada and around the world. The Jazz Festival touches all parts of the city, with many free performances including large-sale public events, eight major indoor concert series, and a host of nightclub shows. Over 503,000 people attended last year’s Festival.
Literacy BC

Literacy BC is the provincial literacy organization that promotes and supports literacy and learning in British Columbia. Founded in 1990, the organization is a diverse network of individuals and groups involved and interested in literacy in BC. At Literacy BC we believe that literacy is a human right; that literacy is everyone's business and that we all have a part to play. Literacy BC is a non-profit organization.
Museum of Anthropology at UBC

Vancouver Sculpture Biennale

The Vancouver Sculpture Biennale is unique in the world of Biennale's, in that it is the only Biennale in the world with a focus on sculpture and the urban landscape. It is an 18 month festival of events celebrating the cultures of the world, the diversity of the City, its topography, geography, architecture, arts, sports and community programs.
26 Major sculptures, by 19 world renowned artists representing 11 nations, have been installed along the bike, walking paths, urban plazas and neighborhoods along the waterways surrounding the City of Vancouver. Via the Biennale, the City of Vancouver becomes an open-air museum, free for all to engage and enjoy, 365 days per year, 24/7.

Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival

The Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival grew from humble roots in 1979 as a fund-raising initiative featuring one vintner, Robert Mondavi, with approximately 1,000 people attending the two-day event. Today the festival attracts some of the biggest industry names from around the world and is firmly established as the continent's premier wine event and among the biggest, best and oldest wine events in the world. It features wine tastings and pairings, gourmet dinners and luncheons, educational seminars and culinary competitions.
This is a rare opportunity to meet owners, winemakers and senior representatives from wineries around the globe. For either the experienced wine lover or the novice, the festival has something to please every palate and pocketbook.

The British Columbia Association of Magazine Publishers (BCAMP) was established in 1993 to serve and promote British Columbia magazines. The BCAMP membership includes arts and culture, news, business, lifestyle, leisure and special interest magazines. These titles represent the diversity of interests of British Columbians and are read by more than one million people around the world. BCAMP works tirelessly to create an environment in which BC magazine publishers can continue to integrate culture with entrepreneurial enthusiasm.
Geist Magazine

Geist is a literary magazine of ideas and culture, with a strong sense of place and an equally strong sense of humour. Geist began as a 40-page newsprint publication in the editor’s living room 17 years ago, with financing of $7,500. It is now the largest literary magazine in Canada. In story, image, essay and the interactive accumulation of little-known fact, we register the sensibility of a people in the process of inventing a country that may or may not be the one we call Canada.
